Blueberry Picking Thinking

Blueberry Season

I was picking blueberries, and I got to thinking.

Capitalism would look at these teeny tiny berries that take time with little result and ask, how can we do this more efficiently? How can we do it faster with bigger results? i.e. more berries in less time.

Capitalism and colonialism don’t ask 'how to simply enjoy the process. They don’t see the reward within the act versus its final result. There was even challenge in trying not to compare (hence, compete) my bucket with my fellow berry pickers.
